Chef Barak Aharoni developed his techniques and style throughout his professional career working in Tel Aviv’s leading restaurants and through his travels abroad, where he is always delving into various food cultures.
It has always been the Mediterranean landscape, combined with his mother’s Tunisian and his father’s Persian roots, that has given him the possibility to explore and mix together traditional and modern cooking techniques.
His approach marries only the freshest regional ingredients with specialties by local growers and the result is fully realized is a rich, gentle and daring culinary language.
In Pardes, Barak creates a mature and personal menu, with interpretation of traditional and contemporary dishes – creating a true modernist Israeli cuisine.
An eager culinary tourist, a collector of tools, accessories and textiles, a food stylist and a culinary concept consultant, Ornan and has been passionate about good food, cooking and design ever since she can remember.
She is a graduate of the Corcoran School of Art & Design (Washington DC) and The Department of Textile Design at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design & Art (Ramat Gan).
By merging the two disciplines, Ornan has led a long and successful career in both the restaurant and hospitality industries and has founded and managed some of Israel’s finest catering companies, restaurants and F&B departments.
Ornan is responsible for the concept design and development of ‘The George’s’ food and beverage division, in collaboration with chef Barak Aharoni.
Mor Bernstein, a graduated the WSET Level 4 DIPLOMA in Wine and Spirits from WSET London School, is an independent wine consultant specializing in the development of wine programs and staff wine training.
As head sommelière of ‘Yafo Tel Aviv’ restaurant, Bernstein managed wine procurement, selected a wine list and conducted staff wine training.
La Revue du vin de France, France’s most influential wine magazine, described the Israeli wine list she created for the ‘Claro’ restaurant as ‘The country’s sharpest’.
In 2017, Bernstein founded ‘The Winter of Syrah’ wine festival, which she has curated and produced every year since, and in 2018 she won 1st place in the prestige “Yarden Award” Sommelier competition.
Having managed some of Tel Aviv’s leading bars and won several international cocktail competitions, Bar Shira founded the ‘Imperial Group’. Since its opening in 2013, the ‘Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar’ is considered Tel Aviv’s best cocktail bar and has been awarded the ‘Best bar in Tel Aviv’ by Time Out magazine every year. In 2015, the ‘Imperial’ was ranked 17th in the world and was awarded ‘The best bar in Africa and the Middle East’ by THE WORLD’S 50 BEST BARS.
As leader and co-owner of the Imperial group, Shira opened many bars throughout Israel, as well as launched the ‘Imperial’s Bootled Cocktails’, a bottled cocktails venture.
